We here at KCCC along with Killeen Independent School District (KISD) are inviting eligible artists to apply for consideration in demonstrating their carving talents during arts festival, “Take 190 West – Killeen Salutes the Arts”., which will be held this spring.
The two-day Limestone Sculpture Contest will feature events such as a KISD art show, a 4th grade book writing contest sponsored by Altrusa of Central Texas’, and of course the on-site carving contest.
The event is held starting on Friday, March 6, then its “Chisel down” on Saturday, March 7st at 4 pm, and for those carving “perfectionist” that think this is not enough time, we have a new rule this year where sculptors may start on Wednesday March 4th!!!
Grand Prize is $1000, and your work to be displayed at our facility or other public facility for a period of one year. along with all participants.
